The bureau will produce, wherever possible, written information in a way that is accessible to ALL our clients and staff. There is a legal duty to meet the information needs of all clients following the implementation of Section 21 of the Disability Discrimination Act in October 1999 or to find alternative means to ensure accessibility.

This may take the form of written information in “large print” format due to the client being unable to read the information in the normal format. It is very important to ask the person concerned what size they would like the text in these circumstances.

In addition, many of the leaflet and information resources used by the bureau can be obtained in a range of accessible formats for clients. The bureau will take all reasonable steps to help the client.
